The Corona virus hit New York City and so the days, weeks and months of shelter in place began. A friend mentioned an art challenge. I signed up, not realizing what the challenge was for drawing. Instead of drawing, I decided to collage my work.
The challenge for Day #4 was to draw a favorite song. What a difficult challenge on so many levels!! For one, I love music and have many favorite genres and songs, so to help narrow down, I strongly considered a song that fit the times.
Sam Cooke’s Times A Gonna Change was my first #1 choice. Instead I chose Chuck Berry’s iconic Maybellene, an energy packed song full of spirit. Berry’s brilliance as a storyteller, innovator, songwriter and performer lifts my spirit.
Be safe and be well!!
