March 27, 2020
The Corona Virus hit New York City and so the days, weeks and months of shelter in place begin. A friend mentioned an art challenge. I signed up not realizing the challenge was for drawing. Instead of drawing, I decided to collage my work. The challenge for Day #4 was to draw a favorite song. What a difficult challenge on so many levels !! For one, I love music and have many favorite genres and songs, so to help narrow down, I strongly considered a song that fit the times. Sam Cooke’s Times A Gonna Change was my first # 1 choice. Instead I chose Chuck Berry’s iconic Maybellene, an energy packed song full of spirit. Berry’s brilliance as a story teller, innovator and flat out songwriter and performer lifts my spirit. Be safe and be well!
